Kristina Pickering '77 Named Chief Justice of Nevada

Kristina Pickering '77 has been named as Chief Justice of Nevada.  She will serve until January 2014, presiding over the Nevada Supreme Court, acting as its administrative head, speaking publicly on behalf of the Court, and representing the judiciary before the Nevada Legislature.

After earning her law degree at King Hall, Justice Pickering began her career as law clerk for U.S. District Judge Bruce R. Thompson in Reno. She then entered private law practice, handling complex civil litigation at both the trial and appellate level in Reno and Las Vegas before her election to the Nevada Supreme Court in 2008. She is a life member of the American Law Institute.
