Dean Johnson Comments on Latino Voters and Obama Administration Policy

Dean Kevin R. Johnson commented for media including the Imperial Valley Press on the ways in which Latino voters' support for President Obama in the 2012 election may impact immigration reform and other issues during Obama's second term.

Dean Johnson said that the answer may depend on what sort of pressure Latino advocacy groups are able to direct at the administration.  "Nobody can sort of expect that their election support is going to lead to results," said Dean Johnson. "With any president you have to keep up the pressure if you want to see change."

Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
