Professor Chander Speaks on ‘Libel Tourism' at California State Bar Annual Meeting

Professor Anupam Chander spoke on the topic of "libel tourism" at the Annual Meeting of the State Bar of California in Monterey, California on Saturday, October 13, 2012. He compared British and American tort law, and discussed an American blocking statute making enforcement of foreign defamation judgments more difficult in the United States. He also discussed proposed reforms to the U.K. law.

Professor Chander spoke on a panel organized by King Hall alumnus Jeffrey Daar '82. Daar is the incoming Chair of the State Bar's International Law Section.  The panel was organized around the theme of "Hot Topics in International Litigation." Daar spoke on a variety of issues related to international litigation.

Professor Anupam Chander is a leading scholar in the law of globalization and digitization, and has written widely on international law and cyber law.  He is also Director of the California International Law Center at King Hall.
