David Walgren '95, Judy Johnson '76, Nicole Soluri '04 Receive Prestigious Gubernatorial Appointments

Three King Hall alumni have been appointed to prestigious positions by California Governor Jerry Brown. 

David B. Walgren '95, who drew widespread praise for his successful prosecution of the manslaughter case following from the death of singer Michael Jackson, has been appointed to a judgeship in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Walgren had been a deputy district attorney with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office since 1996.

Judy Johnson '76 has been appointed to a judgeship in the Contra Costa County Superior Court.  Johnson served as the executive director of the State Bar of California from 2000 to 2011 and previously served as chief trial counsel from 1994 to 2000. She was an assistant district attorney in the San Francisco District Attorney's Office from 1977 to 1994 and a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Alameda County from 1976 to 1977.

Nicole Soluri '04 has been appointed chief counsel at the California State Lottery. Soluri has been senior associate attorney at Downey Brand LLP since 2009. Prior to that, she was an associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati from 2004 to 2009.
