Raha Jorjani Teaches Attorney Training Session on Representing Immigration Detainees
Raha Jorjani, staff attorney and lecturer with the UC Davis School of Law Immigration Law Clinic, helped to lead a training session on "Representing Immigration Detainees at Bond Hearings," teaching more than two dozen attorneys to represent detainees and secure their release. Also making presentations were the Honorable Lawrence Di Costanzo, Immigration Judge (appearing in a personal capacity); and Kyra Lilien, Staff Attorney, Centro Legal de la Raza. The training session, which was co-sponsored by UC Davis School of Law, Centro Legal de la Raza, NLSCA and O'Melveny & Myers LLP, took place on November 18 in San Francisco. Participants were asked to commit to taking on at least one pro bono bond case at some point in the year following the session.
