Professor DeSantis Publishes Op-ed on Sales Tax in Sacramento Bee
Professor Angelo DeSantis has published an op-ed in the Sacramento Bee on issues raised by a new California law requiring online retailers such as Amazon.com to collect sales tax on purchases from California customers. DeSantis' article examines past Supreme Court cases regarding state taxation of interstate businesses, and suggests that by collecting sales tax, Amazon would "compete on a level playing field" with other retailers.
