Sean Ponist '99 Publishes Op-ed in Daily Journal

Sean Ponist '99 has published an op-ed, "Recovering Lost Profits in Real Estate Transactions," in the April 27 edition of the San Francisco Daily Journal.  Ponist, a counsel with the San Francisco-based real estate and business litigation firm Peterson, Martin & Reynolds, wrote on the implications of the recent California Court of Appeals ruling in Greenwich S.F., LLC v. Wong, which concerns lost profits in a breach of a real property sales agreement.

"The Greenwich decision has opened the door to the recovery of lost profits, but just slightly," observed Ponist.  "Aggrieved investors should seek lost profits, but need to be mindful that courts are still skeptical of lost profits damages and will not allow them where even remotely uncertain or speculative."
