Professor Lee Comments on Supreme Court Case for California Report

Professor Peter Lee commented on Stanford v. Roche, a university patent dispute that has reached the U.S. Supreme Court, for The California Report, a news program of public radio station KQED.  At issue in the case is whether a researcher at Stanford University could sign away the patent rights to an AIDS test he developed at the university.

"Not all university inventions make a lot of money," said Lee, "but some do. So there's potentially millions of dollars at stake in the outcome of this case."

Professor Lee's scholarly work addresses the intersection of science and society, particularly exploring the patent system's impact on scientific and technological progress.
