Professor Biagioli Speaks in Florence, Bologna

Professor Mario Biagioli traveled to his native Italy this month to deliver lectures in Florence and Bologna.  At the European University Institute in Florence, Professor Biagioli spoke on "Openness and Secrecy Revisited: Constructing Priority in Science, 1610-1850" on January 17 and on "The Dematerialization of ‘Invention': Revolutions in the History of a Legal Concept" on January 19.  At the University of Bologna, he spoke on "Timing the New: Scientific Priority between Ciphers and Publications" on January 18.

Professor Biagioli, an internationally renowned expert in the fields of Intellectual Property and the History of Copyright, is a new member of the King Hall faculty and founding Director of the Center for Innovation Studies at UC Davis.
