Professor Aoki Selected as Morse Chair
Professor Keith Aoki has been selected as the Fall 2011 Morse Chair Professor at the Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics. He will teach a course on "Competition, Innovation and Capitalism" as well as a symposium on "Regionalism and Immigration" at the Wayne Morse Center, which is housed in the University of Oregon School of Law. For 26 years, the chair has been given to distinguished scholars and activists who embody the qualities and traditions associated with Wayne Morse (1900-1974), an Oregon attorney and U.S. Senator known for his highly principled approach to politics and his opposition to the Vietnam War.
Margie Paris, Dean of the University of Oregon School of Law, praised Professor Aoki as an amazingly creative and active scholar. "He is a true polymath, and one who inspires and stimulates ideas," she said.
Keith Aoki is a professor of law at UC Davis. He publishes and teaches in the areas of intellectual property, globalization, critical race theory, and local government law. He was recently honored with election to the prestigious American Law Institute.
