Professor Jaime Publishes Essay in Homefront

Professor Krystal Callaway Jaime has published an essay, "The Importance of Civil Domestic Violence Restraining Orders," in the latest issue Home Front, the quarterly family violence newsletter of the California District Attorneys Association.  The article addresses the reluctance of some courts to issue a criminal protective order and a civil domestic violence restraining order for the same victim, and asserts that "Obtaining criminal protective orders and civil domestic violence restraining orders in a collaborative setting can maximize victim safety and effective prosecution."

Professor Jaime is the supervising attorney for the UC Davis School of Law Family Protection and Legal Assistance Clinic.  Prior to joining the King Hall Faculty, Krystal had a private practice in Woodland, California, where she represented individuals in family law and personal injury actions.
