Robert S. Chapman '76 Among Finalists for Trial Lawyer of the Year
Robert S. Chapman '76, a partner at Greenberg Glusker, has been named as a finalist for the 2010 Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year Award. Greenberg's nomination comes as a result of his successful representation of New York City in a trial against Exxon Mobil Corporation in which the city charged the oil company with poisoning its groundwater with the gasoline additive methyl tertiary butyl ether. Chapman and his team obtained a $104.7 million judgment in October 2009.
Chapman is a preeminent trial lawyer with an outstanding record in both trial and appellate courts. He has obtained a number of multi-million dollar trial court awards, including an $80 million jury verdict, the largest ever obtained against a motion picture studio.
