Professor Schwartz Inducted into AALL Hall of Fame

Professor Mortimer Schwartz, founder of the Mabie Law Library at UC Davis School of Law, has been inducted into the American Association of Law Libraries Hall of Fame as a charter inductee. 

Professor Schwartz, who had previously been the first professional legal librarian at both the University of Montana and University of Oklahoma, was among the first faculty to be recruited to UC Davis School of Law by founding Dean Edward L. Barrett, Jr., joining the Law School in 1965.  A pioneering scholar in the field of the Law of Outer Space, his career has included service as a fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science and editor of the Library Law Journal.  His research interests include the rights of children and women, legal biography, and legal bibliography.  Among his many publications is Problems in Legal Ethics, authored with Professor Richard C. Wydick.
