Judge Loren McMaster '69 Profiled in The Recorder
Sacramento Superior Court Judge Loren McMaster '69 is profiled in the "Court Watch: Judges and the Justice System" section of the February 2 issue of The Recorder.
The article notes that Judge McMaster emerged from a failed recall attempt five years ago and went on to win praise for his handling of high-profile cases. Recently, McMaster ruled that Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson's strong-mayor initiative constituted a revision of the City Charter, and that such a revision could not be proposed through an initiative on the June ballot.
McMaster was appointed to the Sacramento County Superior Court by Governor Gray Davis in 1999. The article notes "[McMaster] is a stickler for civil behavior in the courtroom" and that his interests include British politics and the San Francisco 49ers.
He is a member of the Class of '69, King Hall's first graduating class.
