Professor Amann Speaks at American University, UC Berkeley
Professor Diane Marie Amann gave presentations last week at American University Washington College of Law and the Center for Race and Gender at UC Berkeley.
On October 2-3, Professor Amann traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in the "Teaching IHL Workshop," sponsored by the International Committee of the Red Cross. Her presentation, "International Humanitarian Law and Terrorism," was designed to help train law professors on the laws and customs of war so that they will be able to include this area of law in their own teaching.
On October 8, Professor Amann presented "Women at Nuremberg," regarding women who were prosecutors, defense lawyers, administrators, witnesses, and journalists during the post-World War II war crimes trials in Nuremberg, Germany, as part of a panel on "Lawyers in Wartime," at the Center for Race and Gender.
Diane Marie Amann is Professor of Law at the UC Davis School of Law and Director of the California International Law Center at King Hall (CILC). Among her areas of expertise is international criminal justice.
