Professor Jorjani Addresses CARICOM Ambassadors
Professor Raha Jorjani addressed Caribbean Community (CARICOM) country ambassadors at the Organization of American States headquarters in Washington, D.C., in August. Professor Jorjani spoke on issues regarding the detention and deportation of CARICOM country citizens, and focused largely on issues related to 1996 changes in U.S. immigration law and whether immigration enforcement practices resulting from these changes violate international human rights and duties owed by the United States.
Raha Jorjani is a staff attorney in the Immigration Law Clinic at the UC Davis School of Law with a special interest in advocacy on behalf of detained immigrants.
