Professor Aoki Elected to American Law Institute
Professor Keith Aoki has been elected to the American Law Institute (ALI), joining 13 other King Hall faculty who are members of the prestigious institution.
Widely considered the nation's most important organization of legal scholars, ALI oversees law reform projects that often form the basis of laws enacted across the country and become standards cited in judges' legal opinions, lawyers' briefs, and scholarly articles. ALI membership is a distinct professional honor, and the number that can be admitted is limited to 3,000. The King Hall faculty includes ALI members Dean Kevin R. Johnson and former Dean Florian Bartosic, and Professors Diane Marie Amann, Carol S. Bruch, Joel C. Dobris, Floyd F. Feeney, Daniel W. Fessler, Robert W. Hillman, John B. Oakley, Edward H. Rabin, Daniel L. Simmons, Bruce A. Wolk, and Richard C. Wydick.
Joining this group will be Professor Aoki, a nationally recognized scholar in the fields of critical race theory, local government law, and globalization. His background includes participation on the editorial board for the Harvard Environmental Law Review and the editorial staff of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, and two years of legal practice with Hale and Dorr, a Boston firm specializing in technology law. His scholarly work has focused on the intersection of critical theory and the law.
