King Hall Students Place in National Brief Writing Competition
A brief written by Nabil Bisharat ‘09, Mikayla Gow ‘09, and Eric Toscano '09 has been chosen as the third-place winner in the 2009 Scribes Brief Writing Competition. Scribes, or the American Society of Legal Writers, is a national organization dedicated to improving legal writing across the profession. The students' brief placed third out of 40 briefs submitted to this year's competition.
"This may be the first time one of our U.C. Davis teams has placed in the Scribes brief writing competition, and our three fine recent graduates should be very proud," said Tim Schooley, supervisor of King Hall's appellate advocacy/moot court program.
The same brief written by Bisharat, Gow, and Toscano won the title of best brief in the ABA's National Appellate Advocacy Competition for the San Francisco region.
