UC Davis Wins International Moot Court Regionals
Law students swept through the Super Regional Rounds of the Jessup International Moot Court Competition held February 29 - March 2, 2008, at Santa Clara School of Law. Team members Sumaira Arastu ‘09, Michael Djavakhyan ‘09, Kathleen Doty ‘08, and Jimmy McBirney '08 went undefeated, beating Washington, Willamette, Wyoming, Whittier, Loyola-Los Angeles, Hawaii, and archrival UC Hastings in the final round. Djavakhyan and Doty received awards for fourth and fifth top oralists, respectively. McBirney received the best oralist award in the final round. This victory qualifies the team to compete against teams from around the world in the Shearman & Sterling International Rounds in Washington, D.C.
