All other books are shelved in open stacks with the exception of Rare Books and Archives. For after-hours access, see section below on keycards that may be purchased by alumni.
Assistance with Research & Library Collections
Reference Librarians are available to assist alumni in locating books and providing research tips, during all open hours -- in person, via email
or by telephone at 752-0210.
Books & Other Print Materials

Procedures for borrowing, returning, renewing and interlibrary lending of books and other materials are found at the Circulation Services web page.
Desktop Support & Computer Services
Computers in the Library on Level 3 may be used by anyone for legal research, but are not available for email or wordprocessing. Online printing is available for 10 cents a page, with copycard. Food and drink are not permitted near any computers. The Computer Lab is for UCDavis Law students only.
Faculty Publications
The Library maintains an archive of Law faculty publications and exhibits selected faculty publications in the corridor south of the Mabie Library entrance. Each faculty member is asked to select a representative sample of his/her publications to include in the exhibit.
Keycards
UC Davis Law alums can apply to receive a keycard for after-hours access to the Mabie Law Library in King Hall. Applicants must apply in person, show identification, and complete a form with contact information. After-hours access may be denied or withdrawn at any time. Keycards will be valid for the current fiscal year only, and applicants must re-apply in person each year.
For security reasons, keycard holders may not loan the keycard to others or allow others access to the building after hours. The Reserve section is not available after hours.
Lost and Found
Found items are held at the Circulation Desk for a reasonable time. Items are then turned over to the Law Student Association or, if valuable, to the campus police.
New Books
The Library prepares a monthly list of New Books and also a selected list of "highlighted books" that is updated regularly. Recent acquisitions are housed in an exhibit case located outside the Mabie Law Library entrance -- students may request to borrow display-case books at the Circulation/Reserve desk.
