Prior to joining the King Hall Faculty, she had a private practice in Woodland, California, where she represented individuals in family law and personal injury actions.  Even as a private practitioner, she maintained her connections with the Family Protection and Legal Assistance Clinic.  In June of 2008, she accepted the offer to work with the Family Protection Clinic as it would provide her with an opportunity to work with victims of family violence on a full-time basis.  However, she soon discovered that working with the students was as rewarding as assisting victims with their legal proceedings.
