UC Davis School of Law Financial Aid Office Return of Title IV Funds and Refund Policies
Fee Refunds
The effective date for determining a refund of fees is the date you file a completed Planned Educational Leave or Withdrawal petition with the UC Davis School of Law Office of the Registrar. The percentage of fees that may be refunded is determined by the number of calendar days (not school days) elapsed, beginning with the first day of instruction. If you enrolled in classes, you will be dropped from all of your courses automatically as of the date the Planned Educational Leave or Withdrawal petition is received. This refund will not affect the Return Title IV Funds calculation, but does affect the amount of money you may owe back to the university for withdrawing.
Starting with the first day of class, the Refund Policy will refund fees based upon the number of days elapsed when the Planned Educational Leave or Withdrawal petition is filed for the semester as follows:

The UC Davis School of Law Financial Aid Office is required by regulation to calculate a Refund of Fees and a Return of Title IV Funds amount for all financial aid recipients who withdraw, are dismissed, or who take a Planned Educational Leave (PELP) during a semester. The policy applies to financial aid recipients who discontinue enrollment in all classes, on or after the first day of the semester. The Return of Title IV Funds is the amount of unearned aid you received at the beginning of the semester that must be returned to the federal aid programs. Any aid received in excess of the earned amount is considered unearned. The earned portion is calculated on a daily basis using calendar days from the first day of instruction.
