Craig Compton graduated from UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 2001 and then went to work for the international law firm of Fish & Richardson P.C. as a patent litigator, where he remained for 10 years. From 2009-2011 he was principal at the firm. While at Fish & Richardson, Craig took on a number roles within the firm including, Hiring Principal and Marketing Chair for the Silicon Valley Office. He was also active in Fish & Richardson's Diversity Initiative, including the review and selection of Diversity Fellows. While in private practice, he also served as a volunteer Special Deputy District Attorney for a rural county in Northern California. Before working as a volunteer for the District Attorney, he took on pro bono matters as a criminal defense attorney. Craig graduated from UC Davis in 1998 with a degree in Mathematics.

Michele Lyons graduated from Harvard Law School in 2004 and then went to work for the international law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP as a patent litigator. She then clerked for the Honorable Sharon Prost on the U.S. Federal Circuit Court of Appeal before joining the U.S. Department of Justice as an Honors Attorney. While at Justice, Michele was active in the internship program, including recruitment and mentorship of the summer clerks. She also took on pro bono matters through Bread for the City. She then pursued a career in public service with the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS), where she remained for 5 years. While at CIMS, Michele took on a number of roles within the organization, including policy and legal advising. During law school, Michele summered with the U.S. Department of Justice in both Honolulu and San Francisco. Michele graduated with high honors from UC Berkeley in 2001 with a degree in Physics.
