Leadership Council on Legal Diversity - 1L LCLD Scholars Program
Deadline: Deadlines vary by participating organizations
Applicants must be currently enrolled as first-year law students in good standing at an ABA accredited law school. The criteria by which candidate(s) are selected will be left up to the individual firms/corporations at this time. Keep in mind, however, that the overall goal of the LCLD is to increase diversity in the legal profession and that under-represented populations in our profession are of primary interest to LCLD's work.
Candidates must apply directly to the participating LCLD member organizations. The 1L LCLD Scholars Program will rely on participating member organizations to identify, select, and hire their 1L LCLD Scholar(s).
LCLD is interested in maintaining a relationship with their 1L LCLD Scholars and keeping them connected as a community. They will be coordinating several networking opportunities for the 1L LCLD Scholars, which include:
- 1L LCLD Scholars Retreat (June 17 – 19, 2013, Denver, CO)
- Participation in the Law School Mentor Program. 1L LCLD Scholars will be paired with a LCLD Fellow or LCLD member attorney who will mentor them at minimum for 1 year and hopefully through law school.
- Invitation to participate in 3 – 4 networking/educational conference calls which will which will give them the chance to hear from leading lawyers on current legal topics.
- Dedicated LinkedIn Group for 1L LCLD Scholars
