Celebrating King Hall 2014

Room shot

I had a wonderful time visiting with faculty, alumni, donors, students, staff, and friends. It was wonderful to see Professor and Dean Emeritus Bruce Wolk and Senator Lois Wolk. I talked with Justice Louis Mauro ’87, Justice Kathleen Butz '81, and alumni board members Gage Dungy '03, Kara Ueda '00, Carol Livingston '80, John O’Malley '98, Amal Abu-Rahma ‘97, Kelly Borelli '92, Melissa Jones '99, and Alberto Roldan '92. Many of our faculty were in attendance.

This was the order of the program:

Program

Miles Prince ’14 did a great job speaking about the importance of student scholarships. I was pleased to recognize registrar Nicole Waterman, who is retiring this summer after 37 years at King Hall. Attendees paused to remember the late Thelma Kido, the beloved administrator and registrar. It was wonderful to see members of the Kido family in attendance. We unveiled a portrait of Thelma, who was a founding member of King Hall. Marion Cantor ’82 and the Class of ’82 commissioned the portrait in her honor.

Professor Floyd Feeney told funny and poignant stories about the late Professor Jim Hogan before introducing Professor Imwinkelried as the DTA recipient. Professor Imwinkelried also paid tribute to Professor Hogan during his remarks. Jim’s wife Jan Hogan was there as Professor Imwinkelried’s guest.
