Admitted Students and Alumni in San Francisco

We had a great turnout for the Admitted Students Reception at Reed Smith's SF offices yesterday.  Roughly 20 admitted students and 20 alumni were in attendance.  Our alum, and former LSA President Eric Toscano, generously introduced me and I talked about the amazing upward trajectory of UC Davis School of Law, the new wing of the building, our wonderful new Chief Justice, and the many other great things going on at King Hall.  Two alums (Gene Woo and Kelly Van Aken) offered impromptu remarks about King Hall for the admitted students, highlighting the special King Hall community.

We had in attendance admitted students from Harvard, UC Berkeley, Pitzer, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, Oregon, and many other great schools.  Many of them mentioned all the great things that they had heard about UC Davis School of Law, especially the increase in our rankings and the new wing of the building.

Among our alums in attendance were Dan Girard, Gene Woo (Alumni Board member), Drew Amoroso, formerly Editor in Chief of the UC Davis Law Review, Lena Rege, Carlos Osorio, Emilie De La Motte, Lenneal Gardner, Annie Shiu, Corrine Bielejeski, Jon Braunstein, Kelly Van Aken, and many others.  Faculty member Chris Elmendorf was in attendance.

Assistant Dean for Admissions Sharon Pinkney and Assistant Dean for Career Services Craig Compton were present as well.  Ginger Welsh of Alumni Relations put on the event.  Assistant Dean for Development Jean Korinke and Karen Charney were there as well.

All in all, the next generation of King Hall looks like it will be great!
