Tax Law “Rocks”

Professor Shannon Weeks McCormack has said that her goal is to convince all of her students that "tax isn't so bad," and even hopes to persuade some that "tax rocks." Students may have been convinced yesterday, as the Tax Law Society held a Tax Law Careers panel with a very impressive roster of panelists. 3 out of the 4 were King Hall alums! Thomas Schuttish '73, General Tax Counsel for Chevron Corporation Joseph De Angelis '91, Partner at Downey Brand in Sacramento B.J. Susich '06, Associate in the Taxation group at Boutin Gibson Di Giusto Hodell Inc. Grant S. Thompson, Supervising Tax Counsel for the State Board of Equalization The panelists discussed the differences between working at a firm, being in-house counsel, and working for the BOE. Phillip Kleam '10 acted as moderator as the students asked some great questions. Professor McCormack was there, too. I thought the panel "rocked!"
