"Private support is crucially important to our future in educating the highest quality legal scholars." Dean Rex Perschbacher
A lot has changed since the UC Davis School of Law opened its door's 40 years ago. Costs have skyrocketed as noted in the right column on this page, public funding has flat-lined, and the very nature of law school education has evolved to meet new global demands. The School of Law leadership has set a goal to be the best, small public law school in the nation. Private support of UC Davis School of Law and its students, faculty, and programs is critical in making this goal a reality.
Transforming Facilities. UC Davis School of Law has been housed primarily in a single building (King Hall), built in 1969, which remains relatively unchanged today. Yet, the student, faculty, and staff numbers have increased, new teaching technologies have emerged, and hands-on clinical programs have expanded putting strains on our current facility. The King Hall Expansion and Renovation is critical to our future in educating the highest quality legal scholars. Go here for full details on this effort and how you can support it.
Investing in Tomorrow's Leaders. Students from UC Davis School of Law continue to make a positive impact in our community, state, and world, not only as students, but as graduates as well. The Law School is committed to helping ensure that the most promising students can attend, regardless of economic status, through increased funding of scholarships, financial aid and loan re-payment programs. A key component in funding these efforts is the King Hall Annual Fund. Testimonials from recent Alumni Association Scholarship recipients (download PDF) helps you understand first-hand the impact these funds can make.
Fostering Unparalleled Teaching and Research. Our junior faculty members represent the most talented, respected, and diverse cohort of teacher-scholars in the U.S. They join many other outstanding faculty members, and others who have achieved emeritus status, yet remain prominent members of the King Hall community. Philanthropic support, through endowed chairs, and the enrichment of academic and public service programs, is necessary to attract and retain faculty who are exceptional teachers, researchers, scholars and practitioners.
Continuing Our Momentum. Thanks to our alumni, students, friends, faculty and staff, philanthropic support of UC Davis School of Law rose to the greatest heights ever in Fiscal Year 2005-06. The King Hall Annual Fund increased by 40% over the prior year, and overall $2.28 million was given to King Hall. Most impressively, over 52% of the 2006 graduating class gave a total of $12,000 to support King Hall. To learn why they felt giving back was so important, read their comments below or download a PDF of their comments. The level of private support the Law School needs to foster continues to increase, and will take the participation of our alumni and friends to be successful. With your help, we can make a difference for future generations to come.

"King Hall is more than a law school; it's a community. I've chosen to donate to the Class Gift because I want to give back to a school that has provided me with over whelming support, lasting friendships, social awareness, and new aspirations. I hope you'll join me!"

"The clinics gave me one of the most valuable learning and human experiences of my life. They need resources to continue providing valuable legal services to clients and help students grow as people and advocates."
Steve Platt '05
"My fondest law school memories come from activities and events that would not have been possible without funding from alumni. By contributing to our Class Gift, I hope to enable future generations of King Hall students to take advantage of the same opportunities I had."

"I support the Class Gift because it supports and funds King Hall programs that I am proud of and would like to see continue."

"I am donating to the Class Gift in order to support the immigration clinic and other organizations from which I have learned so much while I've been at King Hall."
