CAREER SERVICES FOR ALUMNI
Our 6,400 alumni practice in every area of law, business, politics, government and the nonprofit sector. Career Services, with six dedicated staff members, including four former attorneys, is dedicated to assisting alumni throughout their law careers. Many of the career services and resources which were available to students continue to be accessible to alumni.

Job Search Consultation
As an alumnus, whether you are considering a change of direction in your career, seeking a new position due to relocation or job loss, or just interested in current market conditions, the Career Services staff is ready to assist you. An advisor is available to talk with you either in person or by telephone for resume and cover letter review, interview coaching and guidance, and, discussion of job search strategies and professional development. Alumni are also welcome to use the various reference materials, directories and publications which are available in our office.

Online Job Database - Symplicity
Alumni seeking employment can access current attorney job listings posted by Career Services on our job search database, Symplicity. Alumni may access the system with the username and password assigned to them as a student. For alumni who graduated prior to the introduction of Symplicity, please contact Career Services for the assignment of a username and password and for assistance in using the system.

Intercollegiate Job Bank
Career Services is a participating member of the "Intercollegiate Job Bank", an online job bank hosted by BYU School of Law. Our membership allows our graduates to access the site to view the alumni job bulletins of over 90 participating law schools throughout the country. Please contact Career Services for the username and password to access this site.

Check the individual job fairs to verify which are open to alumni. Job fairs are also posted on our Symplicity job database.
Lexis Nexis
The Lexis Nexis career library includes, among other directories, Martindale-Hubbell and the National Directory of Legal Aid and Defender Offices. Lexis offers unemployed graduates free access to their career library and database through an ID number that changes annually. This ID number is available to all King Hall graduates upon request from Career Services.

Westlaw
Alumni also have access to WESTLAW for one year following graduation. Various subscription options are available for single user accounts after the first year. WESTLAW offers the West Legal Directory (a database of attorneys throughout the country), the Almanac of the Federal Judiciary, the Directory of Corporate Counsel, the U.S. Government Manual and access to over 100 newspapers.

Networking Opportunities and Professional Affiliations
California Young Lawyers Association (CYLA) is the nation's largest association of young and new lawyers. CYLA provides its members with opportunities for involvement in the profession and for participating in public service at state and local levels. CYLA strives to build community with other young and new lawyers through networking, education, and advocacy on issues important to young and new lawyers. All California attorneys who are in their first five years of practice or are 36 years of age or younger are AUTOMATICALLY members of CYLA. No separate membership fee is required. Membership in CYLA is a benefit provided as a result of your status as a newer member of the State Bar of California. Reciprocity
Alumni considering relocation or who are living in an area near another law school may be eligible to access various career services of the school. Reciprocity policies vary greatly from school to school. Many schools have posted their reciprocity policy on their websites. Also, the NALP website, www.nalp.org
, includes links to reciprocity policies of many of the NALP member schools. Most schools will require a request for reciprocity to come through the graduate's career services office. Please contact Career Services regarding reciprocity request letters. Except for designated closed reciprocity periods, the University of California Law School Career Services offices maintain open reciprocity to fellow UC law alumni. Certain restrictions may apply. Please call the office in advance of your arrival to verify services and to schedule an appointment, if required.
