UC Davis School of Law and its Alumni Association Board of Directors have established giving societies to recognize the variety of ways that our family of donors generously support our School. Annual Gifts (Fiscal Year - July 1 through June 30)
Charter Society - Sequential Years of Support
Our school relies on the sustained generosity of our donors to preserve and enhance our tradition of excellence, service, and leadership. Donors who make a gift each year for five years will be recognized on the King Hall Donor Wall and in the King Hall Counselor as a member of the Charter Society each sequential year that a gift is made. Donors who make a gift for ten or more sequential years will be distinguished with special recognition to highlight their remarkable generosity and loyal support of King Hall.
100% Club
Law firms and other organizations that employ three or more King Hall alums, who each make a gift to the King Hall Annual Fund (at any level), will be recognized in King Hall, listed in the King Hall Counselor, and will be presented with an award acknowledging the 100% participation of their supportive alums.
Young Alumni Club
Alums who give $300 or more within the first five years following graduation will become members of the Young Alumni Club. Multiple-year pledges, donations, and graduation class gift contributions all count toward the $300 goal. Members of the Young Alumni Club will be acknowledged on the King Hall Donor Wall and in the King Hall Counselor until the alum’s fifth reunion.
Members of the Barrett Society and the King Hall Society and all other donors who make a gift of $2,500 of more become members of the Dean’s Leadership Circle the years they make qualifying gifts. The Dean’s Leadership Circle recognizes donors who make leadership-level gifts to the law school on an annual basis. Members of the Circle receive special announcements and invitations to exclusive receptions and special events, including: forums with the Dean, guest speakers, and VIP receptions. Members will also receive preferred seating for all special lectures and MCLE, and will be recognized prominently in King Hall and in the King Hall Counselor.
UC Davis School of Law appreciates all financial contributions. In addition to the King Hall Annual Fund, many choose to support the school in other significant ways, such as the campaign for the renovation and expansion of King Hall and endowments for scholarships and faculty chairs. The lifetime giving societies recognize total accumulated financial support of King Hall. Donors whose lifetime giving exceeds $25,000 will be recognized on the King Hall Donor Wall and in the King Hall Counselor, in the following ways:
The 21st Century Club recognizes donors who have provided for the UC Davis School of Law through bequests and other planned gifts. We encourage alumni, friends, and others to inform us of any bequests and planned gifts that have been made so that we may recognize their generosity to the Law School. Additionally, members of the Law School's 21st Century Club are eligible for the UC Davis Campus Peter J. and Carolee W. Shields Society. As they say, membership has its benefits and for our Shields Society members that includes an invitation to our annual fall luncheon, your name listed in perpetuity on the official Shields Society registry (if you wish) and a unique Shields Society pin and certificate.
Many alumni, friends, foundations and others have shown their support of King Hall by giving to the King Hall Expansion and Renovation Project. This once-in-a-generation opportunity will make a significant impact on the future of students, faculty, and the entire King Hall Community. We are grateful to those who have stepped up and supported this critical project.
