California International Law Center
The California International Law Center at King Hall benefits from the many UC Davis School of Law faculty who are expert in aspects of international, comparative, and transnational law. CILC’s Director and Faculty Council publish books, articles, op-eds, and blog posts on topics as varied as cross-border crime and comparative civil rights, food security and global finance, international trade and immigration detention. They advise government officials and nongovernmental organizations, assist in the drafting of international treaties, and participate in academic conferences on many continents. And they prepare students to contribute to the development of the law in our 21st century world.

Affiliates of CILC are the many programs at the UC Davis School of Law that enrich students’ understanding of international, comparative, and transnational law. They include clinicals in which students learn the practice of promoting human rights; foreign exchange and LL.M programs; and student-run organizations, publications, and moot courts. (Right, Michael Djavakhyan '09, Kathleen Doty '08, and Jimmy McBirney '08 savor victory in 2008 Jessup International Moot Court Competition. The team went on to compete in international rounds in Washington D.C.)
CILC is honored by its Partnerships with noted organizations long committed to promoting the rule of law across the globe. The Center is working to build a framework for peace and reconciliation in Darfur, Sudan, and its faculty are active in prestigious learned societies.
CILC’s Global Council comprises internationally recognized experts in international, comparative, and transnational law and policy. Global Councilmembers speak to the UC Davis School of Law community, advise the Center, and collaborate with the CILC Director and Faculty Council.
